The purists of language, Spanish in this case, we daily regret about the poignant damage that its being done from time to time the reading habits and the economy of immediacy drafted by new technologies. Culprits, among others, about the capsizing is deriving the spoken and written correction.
A compendium of comfort and ignorance or a cause-effect relationship. We can not be completely sure about that, at least in Spain, whereabout the increasingly low readership and shortcomings of the educational system, are making the pretty new generations writting and speaking are getting worse. In regards of that, doesn't help the "anything goes" of social networking, texting or whatsapps, where it seems that doesn't matter to write correctly, letters are lost along the way and the accents evaporate while the punctilious interlocutor eyes keep bleeding.
According to a recent study by the Center for Sociological Research of Spain, 35 percent of Spaniards read "never" or "rarely". Certainly, a dreadful statistics closely and directly related to the crisis of linguistic correctness, the good employee of lexicon, the neat expression...
The clothes make the man and a society that does not read, is not informed and even doesn't manage fluently his own language is sticking a shot in its foot. Therefore, from La Casa Escuela del Español we urge our students to devour books and try to speak with the greatest possible correction. It costs nothing and runs great!
Anyway, these reflections we quick release match perfectly with a recent interview in El Pais to the writer, translator and member of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, Javier Marías, who considered we "now dabbles in language".

La zozobra del lenguaje
Los puristas del lenguaje, español en este caso, lamentamos diariamente el daño punzante que viene haciendo desde hace tiempo el retroceso en los hábitos de lectura y la economía de la inmediatez pergeñada por las nuevas tecnologías. Culpables, entro otros, de la zozobra en la que deriva la corrección hablada y escrita.
Un compendio de comodidad e ignorancia o una relación causa-efecto. No lo podemos detallar a ciencia cierta pero lo que sí está claro es que, al menos en España, los cada vez más bajos índices de lectura y las deficiencias del sistema educativo, están haciendo que las novísimas generaciones escriban y hablen cada vez peor, algo a lo que no ayuda el "todo vale" de las redes sociales, mensajes de texto o whatsapps, donde parece que poco importa que se escriba correctamente, se pierdan letras por el camino, las tildes se evaporen y al interlocutor puntilloso le sangren los ojos.
Según un estudio reciente del Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas de España, el 35 por ciento de los españoles no lee "nunca" o "casi nunca". Ciertamente, unas estadísticas pésimas que guardan una estrecha y directa relación con esta crisis de la corrección lingüística, del léxico bien empleado, de la expresión pulcra...
El hábito hace al monje y una sociedad que no lee, no está informada y ni siquiera maneja con soltura su propio idioma se está pegando un tiro en el pie. Por ello, desde La Casa Escuela del Español instamos a nuestros alumnos a que devoren libros e intenten expresarse con la mayor corrección posible. ¡No cuesta nada y se queda estupendamente!
Sea como fuere, estas reflexiones que soltamos a vuelapluma hilan perfectamente con una entrevista realizada recientemente en El País al escritor, traductor y miembro de la Real Academia de la Lengua Española, Javier Marías, quien consideró en la misma que "ahora se chapotea en la lengua".
